Parents Forum

The Forum is a genuine attempt to seek the views of parents on School issues and develop a stronger home-school partnership.

Some benefits to parents:

  • Parents will have a greater understanding of the way the School operates
  • Parents have more information about their children's education and the quality of that education.
  • Parents will be able to contribute to the strategic direction of the School.
  • Parents will share the vision for the school.

Some benefits to the School:

  • The school will develop a better understanding of the view and needs of parents and how they might address them.
  • Parents contribute time, ideas and skills which complement the ideas, skills and expertise of the School staff and governors.

Ultimately the Forum exists for the benefit of all students.  The Forum is not to be used for raising specific issues about individual children or staff.

The Forum is open to all parents.  The Forum will be attended by the Headteacher.  Governors and other members of staff may also attend on occasions.

Meeting structure
Although Forum meetings are informal they will have the following structure:

  1. Action arising from last meeting - feedback on action points from the previous meeting.
  2. Head's report - the Head will update parents, and seek views and opinions on an upcoming School Development.
  3. Issues raised by parents - parents can put forward agenda items by notifying the School via e-mail at, or by letter, at least one week in advance of the meeting.

Notes from meetings
Notes from meetings will be placed in the Parents' section of the School website.  Agendas will be posted on the website one week in advance. Meetings are held in the LRC starting at 6pm and run for 1 hour.
