School Based Health Service

Young people who are healthy and happy will be able to make the most of the learning opportunities at East Bergholt High School. The School has met the criteria for Healthy School status. Members of the School and local health professionals work together to arrange a number of services promoting student health, for example:

The School Nurse visits regularly to hold 'Drop In' sessions for students - an opportunity for young people to discuss health related and well-being issues.

The dates for the next 'Drop In' sessions are: Wednesday 30th Jan, Wednesday 27th Feb, & Wednesday 27th March. If the drop-in sessions are busy, students can arrange an appointment via the ChatHealth Service. The ChatHealth number is 07507 333356.

When available, the School Nurse supports the Personal, Health and Social Education Programme and the School Nurse attends meetings to help support young people and their health.

Level 1 services are available to older students. These include: basic advice and health education on self-examination, advice on sexually transmitted diseases and contraception, non-invasive Chlamydia screening, emergency contraception, condoms, pregnancy testing and onward referral and signposting.
