Student Voice

The School Council at East Bergholt High School meets regularly to consider a number of school related issues and develop "student voice". In recent times there have been discussions on the following issues:

  • School premises developments.
  • Cashless Catering
  • The Behaviour and Relationships Policy
  • A new rewards system

Students from Years 7 - 10 complete a student perception survey conducted by Kirkland Rowell, every two years.   Issues identified by students in the 2015 Kirkland Rowell survey, were followed up with a student focus group in June 2016.  Issues raised from this further consultation with students, e.g. homework, staffing the snack shack and fairness over trip allocations, are being addressed in our 2016/17 School Development Plan.

Significant sums of money are raised every year as a result of student led activities. In 2015/16 students raised over £7,250 supporting a range of local, national and international Charities.

All students voted in the School mock general election (May 2015) and mock EU referendum ( June 2016), in elections organised by the Politics Club.
