Year 7 Catch-up Premium

For the academic year 2016-2017 the School received £7000 (£500 per student) in Catch Up Premium funding. This is designed to support students who have not reached level 4 in English and/or Maths at Key Stage 2. Intervention programmes for  eligible students are provided by HLTAs.

In both English and Maths 5 students were below level 4 and a further 11 students received Catch Up Premium for either English or Maths.

Of the 7 students who received Catch Up Premium for English, all made at least 1 sub level of progress. 1 student made 1 sub level of progress, 1 made 2 sub levels of progress, 4 made 3 sub levels of progress and 1 made 4 sub levels of progress. Of these, 3 are still only achieving 3A. Of the students who received Catch Up Premium for English, 5 continue to have Literacy intervention for 2016-17.

In respect of the 14 students receiving Catch Up Premium for Maths, 4 have not made any progress and are still achieving a level 3A. All of these students are continuing to have intervention for 2016-17. Of the rest, 1 student has made 1 sub level of progress, 3 have made 2 sub levels of progress, 5 have made 3 sub levels of progress and 1 has made 4 sub levels of progress. 6 of the students for whom Catch Up Premium was received continue to have Maths intervention for 2016-17.

In the absence of DfE guidance, for the current academic year, we have identified  students as being in need of intervention as those achieving less than 100 in  either their English or Maths KS2 tests.
